It's not always known that Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue is a volunteer driven outfit. Over 120 professional volunteers are on call 24/7 to save lives. The Deschutes County Search & Rescue Foundation is the non-profit that supports these amazing volunteers. Funds generously donated by the local community are used for training and equipping these volunteers for action. Donations come from individuals donating a few bucks and from dedicated businesses that put forth sponsorship funds and/or services.

Search & Rescue (SAR) conducts and manages the search for missing persons in urban and wilderness settings, that requires a high degree of expertise, training, and specialized equipment.
